About the event

From 21st November to 25th November, 48 students and 8 teachers were hosted in Verona (Veneto, Italy) for the realisation of the second mobility, according to the schedule provided in the STEM Clubs Erasmus + project. The mobility week was organised by the partner t2i technology and innovation and was aimed at presenting some stem clubs and involving students to participate in concrete activities.

The background of the week was the vast topic of innovation, in its diverse facets and interpretations.

Day one 21st November

The students and teachers were hosted in the Chamber of Commerce of Verona. They had the opportunity to visit the photo exhibition ‘STEM passion’, where the images of influential female scientists were presented, introduced by a short motivational quotation.

In the morning, students have been involved in a workshop aimed at getting to know each other, aligning the expectations, presenting different aspects of the notion of innovation.

In the afternoon, the participants attended a study visit of the city centre, discovering some aspects of innovation concretely put into action in the changing of the city during the centuries.

Day two 22nd November

On day two, the participants were hosted in 311Verona, one of the most prominent and innovative coworking spaces, sited next to the city centre of Verona.

The students were divided into groups and involved in laboratories focused on green and tech innovation. In the afternoon, each group presented the morning experience, results, reflections, ideas, impressions with the aim of capitalising the experience. At the end of the day, each student exchanged impressions, emotions and ideas with the peers.

Day three 23rd November

On day three, the participants were hosted in t2i incubator in Rovigo, where several innovative startups are incubated and accelerated and where ten out of them are physically allocated.

In the morning, the students discovered the activities of the incubator and visited the FabLab PopLabspace, which is divided into four work areas: Digital, Manufacturing, Electronics and Construction. In the afternoon they enjoyed an experiential training, building towers with marshmallows and spaghetti, that was aimed at developing some soft skills such as teamwork, time management and leadership.

Day four 24th November

The participants had an immersive experience at Job and Orienta 2022, the most important national fair devoted to VET and Higher education, hosted each year in Verona.

The students had the opportunity to have visits and workshops with: the Ministry of Education, University of Verona, UNIONCAMERE - the national agency representing the Italian Chamber of Commerce, Regione del Veneto. Very long day but full of useful hints on the importance of stem skills in the labour market.

Day five 25th November

Finally, all the group had laboratories in the Ferraris technical high school in Verona. The school presented its laboratories and made students realize how theoretical knowledge can be applied concretely for the benefit of the needs of the industrial system.

At the end, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Daniela Miceli, closed the study of mobility and a certificate was handed over to each participant.
